Accomplishments

Successes of handler and dog teams who have trained at Prairie Skies are featured on this page.

It's going to be a great summer for training, in anticipation of all those fall shows coming up! Thanks to each and every one of you for keeping the sport of competitive obedience alive and thriving!

With sincerest admiration and appreciation,

Jill

Companion Dog

It only takes a bit more training and handling practice to turn those CGC skills into an AKC Novice obedience routine, as the next set of trainers may attest.

New AKC Companion Dog (CD) titles, earned with class placements:

Marilyn and Schroeder (Golden Retriever)
Kate and Pan (Belgian Tervuren)
Carrie and Rosco (Cocker Spaniel)
Nancy and Scout (Border Collie)

Open

After the CD comes Open obedience with its requirements of retrieving and jumping, and out-of-sight stays. For their extraordinary demonstration of commitment and discipline, congratulations to Marilyn and Schroeder (Golden Retriever) for earning their first qualifying score towards the Companion Dog Excellent title (CDX) on their very first time out in Open A, a mere six months after they earned the CD. Marilyn & Schroeder went on to complete the CDX on July 11, 2009 with two first place ribbons.

TD, UDX, and OTCh

Over the past twelve months, Jill Morstad earned a TD (tracking dog), a UDX and an OTCh (Obedience Trial Champion) on her current dog, Lark.
