Aggression

Aggression is serious business, and not just for the dog. We live in a world where the legal landscape for dog owners has changed and is changing, and those changes affect all of us (myself included), since the law tends to paint with a broad stripe.

I strongly believe that every dog's goal is to get through each day with as little conflict as possible -- appeasement and cooperation are the secret to a dog's functional life in the family pack. If we can clear up confusion, help family members understand the role that they play in the dog's aggressive responses to events or persons in the household, and generally get things re-ordered properly and back on track, the dogs can turn around quite dramatically.

But the absolute KEY to success is the willingness and ability of the human beings in the household to identify and change THEIR behavior, because it is that human behavior that has resulted in an aggressive dog.

Thanks for your interest, and your willingness to find workable solutions for your aggressive dog. Not all dogs are lucky enough to have owners who are that committed; the shelter kennels are always full.
